More Markdowns Added to the Website!

New markdowns added to the website!

I ordered the Black Speedy Turtleneck. I swear the ones at my store were $69 or $79 tonight and only the Beaming Blue and Polar Cream were left.

Anyone get anything? These deals are getting good! I was a little tempted by the Beaming Blue Devotion LS but I haven't tried it on. My impression from feeling it in the store was that it was on the thin side and I'd rather buy a technical piece.

I am going to try the Please Me Pullover for $19. Worst case scenario, I'll turn it into a cropped fitted jacket :)

Anonymous said...

I also got the Pullover. I agree, $19 is too good to pass up. I can always have another piece for lounging! I also got the devotion ls. Hope it works out! I just love a good sale!

christie said...

I got the pullover too! The reviews weren't too bad and you can't go wrong at $19. I just couldn't pass up that deal down from $98!!

Anonymous said...

Got the WTF pullover in polar and the St Moritz jacket in black. Cannot believe it's now $69! I actually purchased it a few weeks ago for $198 but returned it because of the price. Now I am just waiting for the WTF jacket to go down...has anyone seen it in the store on sale? Someone mentioned it for CAD$148.

Anonymous said...

i got the $19 pullover too!
i've never touched it in store, but I'm only 5' so maybe the cropped style will work,

I bought the Fireplace Jersey earlier today pre-second markdown so my timing was def off unfortunately. But I bounced back by buying the sweater in another color for the reduced price.

I'm tempted to get the St. Moritz sweater but it still feels overpriced at $69.00 - it's too short and boxy. Good deals on the jackets though...

Anonymous said...

So glad I saw this. I was in my Lulu last night and tried on the fireplace shirt. Really liked it but it was priced at $79. I just couldn't justify it at $79. But for $49..hells yeah ! I also just got a pair of the orange spin shorts for $24.

I bought that black swan pullover too. I always kind of liked it but was never that into it for the price. $19 though, I will layer a tank underneath or use it early spring over my w/o clothes to the gym. I also bought the Rund Bundle Up Jacket in Love Red. I've been eyeing that one for awhile but didn't want to pay $200 or even $150 for it. I just got the blue Moritz jacket for Christmas and it's so thick and warm and flattering, so thinking about going back for a black one. I do recommend that one to anyone out there. $69 is a steal. It really is warm and looks great on. I found it to be true to size.

Anonymous said...

LLA, does the speedy turtleneck run TTS or did you size down? TIA!

Anonymous said...

I have been waiting for the Run Make it Rain to move to MD but am holding off to see if it will be further reduced. Any thoughts on the newer items added being marked down further?

I was in the Georgetown store yesterday evening and they had the speedy turtleneck marked down to $54 so I picked the black one up then...a little bummed I paid $79 for the beaming blue online on Wednesday morning though since that too was $54 in the store. They also had a lot of the stuff that is now marked down online marked down in the store too minus the Ice Queen Pants. I'm tempted by the black/beaming blue in those.

As a side note LLA, I picked up the black and white striped Devotion LS yesterday too...it is definitely on the thin side but was soooooo comfy I didn't want to take it off and will definitely wear it out and about running errands and such.

Marti said... Oh I started checking out the $19 Please me pullover but after looking at the pictures again -NOT I can use the money elsewhere. So I purchased 2 St. Moritz T-necks and a fireplace jersey and back burner tank. I was sorted of tempted by the LB wunder under High waist but I really need at black pair
Has anyone seen a mark down on the Off The Mat Jacket at the store???
What's the price?

Anonymous said...

I got the black lustrous crops. I got these to just wear around town. I use Luxtreme crops and speeds for working out. I sized up to a 6 and usually wear size 4 in WU and a 6 in Luxtreme, wanted them to be comfy under long sweaters and boots. Hope I made the right decision.... Anybody have these????

Anonymous said...

Did you go with your normal size on the hoodie? I wear a 6 in shirts should I order an 8? Thanks!

luluFemom said...

Ooh, thanks so much for the tip, LLA! I'd gotten lazy about checking WMTM because most of the colors hitting markdown didn't appeal to me, but I snatched up the b/w classic stripe Ice Queens this a.m. - I'd been *hoping* they'd go on markdown (so I could justify keeping both the Ice Queens and Toasty Tech tights even though all signs point to another mild winter of Boston Marathon training...) - I almost never get to take advantage of WMTM - best post-Christmas gift ever! :)

RunLikeTheWind said...

All the Ice Queen Pants are marked down....I was really struggling with the original price, then the first markdown price. I can live with $70 for these pants, and all colors are still available in all sizes! I will definitely head to the stores today to check out what they have there.

Anonymous said...

Really loving the wtf pullover. Doubt there will be a third cut right and I should just buy it now??

Anonymous said...

My store had even better markdowns then on line yesterday. Worth the line ups! I got a few merino wool tops.

I just wanted to chime in that the WTF Pullover is awesome -- I cant believe it is sitting at this price! I have the polar cream and wear it constantly, its so comfy and flattering. I cant justify the yellow, but I will definitely get the black one as well if it gets marked down. Also wanted to throw in my 2 cents for the Toasty Tech Pullovers.... i was totally underwhelmed when i saw them online, but now I own all 3 colors and have been wearing them constantly -- so soft and warm and perfect for freezing temps. Just wanted to input in case anyone is on the fence since Im wishing I would have been able to snatch these at sale prices!

@ anon 5:19 am - I thought the Speedy ran TTS

Lulu Addict said...

@anon 5:38 am - I think this round is about it for markdowns particularly if the price is around half of retail. I think next stop for a lot of this stuff is the outlet and warehouse sales.

Anonymous said...

@Anon 6:32 - I tried on the black Lustrous Crops in store and the size 6 fit perfectly. I wear size 6 in WUs and WUCs.

OT: I tried on the recently-released Astro WUC in Shell Pink and I had to size down to a 4 so the waistband wouldn't be too loose and slip. No muffin top.

I'm tempted by the St. Moritz jacket but I'm worried about the length (arm & body) I'm 5'10" tall, 142 lb and a size 6. None of the reviewers have included their height for reference. So can anyone 5'10" or taller give me a fit review.
Also has anyone seen the Off The Mat jacket at a reduced price if so how much?
I can't help laughing when I see the WTF scarf-someone said it looks like you're wearing a baby blanket around your neck-----LOL and the black has already sold out

Jen said...

WOW! I was checking WMTM on the way up to Mammoth last night, but apparently, they uploaded when I was asleep in the car. Picked up the St. Moritz turtleneck in black. I had been eyeing the WTF vest and so glad I didn't buy it yesterday - $69 today! Also bought the frisky toque and the blue devotion tee. I'm typically between a 6-8, so went with the 8 in the turtleneck and the vest, and 6 in the tee. Hoping that's not too much room in the turtleneck, but didn't want it too tight. Would like to be able to wear with jeans to work.

I considered the shower kit at $39, but I might continue to watch and see if it drops again (or if it really starts selling). I don't have a color preference on that.

@luluFemom: I'm doing Boston too! And looking forward to training through the winter!

It kills me that I missed the Dog runners marked down more! I was debating for too long!

i just bought the st moritz jacket in cream! been eyeing it for weeks!!! im so glad i didn't buy it after the first markdown or so ($99) and today it was $69 lol

Anonymous said...

Don't share that intel ;) I almost bought the cream at regular price but decided it looked too yellowish... Aged white or dingy and I want the black WTF pullover bad BUT it is still full price online :/ I found the toasty tech to be kinda tight with less give.

equestions said...

I also love my toasty tech pullover and am really wanting to buy the wtf pullover but am struggling on what size to buy???? Should I buy it in the same size as my other pullovers or size up like I do for fitted jackets? Help ;)

Anonymous said...

So I bought the speedy turtleneck some time back at regular price, $108. Haven't worn it, tags still attached, think they will allow me to return mine at regular price? When did they start the extended return policy? Cause it definitely has been over 14 days since I bought it.

Anonymous said...

I thought the OTM jacket was only online?

Marti said.... I have the Run Insulator PU from last year? It's 650 down-fill and doesn't really keep me that warm. Besides that although it's not super puffy I can't help thinking about the Michelin Man when I put it on. ( I have the White/Blurred grey)
Now I'm eyeing the St. Moritz PU I see it has 800 down-fill and it looks to fit a bit longer than the Run Insulator
Did it get a second mark down or is $89 the first MD?

Anonymous said...

Got the beaming blue devotion LS! I was tempted to get it before and I already have the limitless blue stripe. I love the top but don't think it's worth $68. Definitely worth $39! Glad I waited.

Laura Strate Madsen said...

I picked up the What The Fluff Pullover, and the St. Moritz Jersey for a new ski base layer. I'm super excited for the pullover since this morning's run was -1. Brrr!

Anonymous said...

The devotion is perfect for San Diego weather- thin, comfy, and nice and long. You can wear it bunched up or longer like a tunic. However, I don't think it's worth $68 but at $39 it's a great deal.

Reed said...

How does the wtf pullover fit? True to size?

Anonymous said...

i got the toasty tech in the love red color. I think that is an awesome top that I will get a lot of use I already have it in polar cream and went for a run on the beach in damp cold weather and it kept me warm and dry.
I hope the red one does not bleed or I will be one unhappy girl.
I also got the yellow LS swiftly turtle neck it was 40 which i think is reasonable.
I was at the new balance store and they had their version of the swiftly for $60. same exact material but only in black and a purple maroon type color.

I just visited the Lulu Facebook page. A lot of people are furious because of the further markdowns in the WMTM section. GEC has been strangely silent all day. Thoughts? Is this a business practice driven by the scarcity model or is Lulu robbing us blindly?

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 8:43 am - the holiday return period ends Jan 13th so you should be ok. I bought the St. Moritz turtleneck when it was $118 and exchanged it for the DHBH when the price dropped to $88.

Anonymous said...

Do we think the pleasing pant is more of a cellulite shower than not? I never tried them on and my size is gone. Do I size up or down?

Anonymous said...

I'm a pear - size small on top and large on bottom. I take a 6 in most tanks, and in the Define, but an 8 in WUs (though I can sometimes take a 6 in DSPs). What size of the Devotion LS would I need to fit my hips? And will it look ridiculously baggy up top?

Anonymous said...

They are offering gift cards for the price adjustments for WMTM items that were lowered last night from the Boxing Day sale price. You just need to start a chat window and they will send you the link to start the phone call. Wilson at GEC was very nice and helpful!

The Speedy Turtlenecks are still $108 at my store!! It's a "cold" store but geeze!. The educator was wondering why I wasnt interested. Bought it online to save $50!

As people return their Christmas buys more product will show up in the WMTM. So if you don't see your size or color keep checking back.

I just bought the WTF vest in black which was newly marked down today - the yellow and blue ones are even cheaper but they're not as practical for me. For those who are unsure about the toasty tech pullover, I highly recommend it - I bought the love red (it's tts) and want to say that it's awesome! so comfy and very flattering! I'm wondering whether i should buy the polar cream, but i'm holding off for now.

i have been reading the lululemon facebook comments and truthfully, I don't know how to feel. The company always had a no price adjustment policy, so either they need to enforce it or get rid of it, and it just sounds like the inconsistency (some people are getting $ back via gift cards) is getting them into some trouble. I do think it's archaic NOT to have a price adjustment policy. I also think some of the ladies on that site need to cool down - threatening to never buy lululemon again is sort of an empty and immature threat (and actually quite amusing to me given that it's such a huge company and it's easy to get sucked in!)

Anonymous said...

@5:19 I bought the Speedy Turtleneck a size up. My regular size fit like a Swiftly ls - snug against my torso. I would have gone TTS if my plan had been to exclusively run in the top, but I wanted the option of casual wear so thought looser was better.

I bought the Toasty Tech pullover on mark down and wore it for xcountry skiing today and thought it performed well. I had tried it on at full price and thought it was $20 too high and the neck did not fit well - too loose and the magnet closure bothered me. I wore a neck gator so that solved the neck problems with the top.

I wore the Bundle Up jacket yesterday on a run at 0 degrees and hated it. My arms felt like they were wrapped in plastic even with a t-shirt underneath. I had to take the jacket off and freeze my arms. I also found the fit is off. It is too short and a little narrow at the hips so doesn't hang well. Overall, it was a disappointing purchase even though I got it on sale (the first mark down). I will try it again with colder temp and see what happens.

Anonymous said...

I am a 6 in runder under top and 8 in u-turn pullover. But bought a 10 in WTF pullover for arm room. The 8 is fitted on me but since its not stretchable it felt tight when I cross my arms. The 10 fits like a tunic (i m 5'5).

Anonymous said...

If you had purchased after 11/4 then return period is until 1/13. But my local store is quite flexible with older returns if the item can sell.

thanks for the heads up! now i can return my full price ice queen pants and my beaming blue swiftly (maybe), since i got the beaming blue speedy t-neck. also got the st moritz turtleneck in black; should be a great non-workout piece.
need to get to the store for returns in the next 2 days, since my new year's resolution is NO MORE LULU!

happy new year!

WTF pullover, the reviews are gone from the site. Many reviews commented on how difficult this item is to get into and out of and that sizing is difficult due to the cumbersome nature of the item. FYI if you buy it without trying on first.

Toasty Tech pullover: I normally wear a size 4 in regular LLL tops, 2 in a CRB. I tried on this top in a 4. It was too big, the sleeves were way too long, the shirt itself was also way too long on me. The patches on the sleeves were bizarre (with the sleeves properly aligned). The only plus I found was that it was extremely soft. I tried on the 2 and it was better, but with all the oddities, I gave it a big pass. I wouldn't even buy it if they reduced it further; I could have bought it in store at $79.

I did buy the St Moritz Jersey ($49 in store) in size 4 and it is perfect.

Off the Mat Jacket, isn't that on-line only? I haven't seen it in stores and I'm in major city with several stores.

HPSauce said...

Finally made up my mind and went with another pair of the IQ pants in Beaming blue/black. I have the Limitless blue ones already which I live, and couldn't decide whether to get the beaming or go with the striped or polar cream since I already had a blue pair... The Beaming Blue is just so bright and gorgeous that I just couldn't pass on them!

Marti said.... The OTM jacket is online only however many are returned to the brick and mortar stores so... that's why I asked whether someone has seen them in store marked down and if so how much.
My beau paid full price for the jacket --it's cute but as I've told him before no garment is worth it's full price ;)
OT Winter Clearance is exciting. I'm waiting for the 2nd and 3rd markdowns for J Crew clearance or 20-30% off. Which is usually noted as Final Sale no exchanges, returns or adjustments.

Anonymous said...

I ordered the IQ pant on Boxing Day $89 it's now $69 called lulu they would NOT budge on the credit for the adjustment in price. I don't even have the pants yet?! He said something 'final sale adjustment are not given. I do understand they have to draw the line but not fair if some are given and others not. Can't stress about $20 will know better next time.

macfrannie said...

I contacted customer service via the chat, asked nicely if there was anything they could do to help me and they did. They couldn't help me with the stuff I'd bought in the store but they were able to fix the price on stuff I'd ordered online. I definitely got more flies with honey. I have a gift card with a store credit on its way. I'm very satisfied with the resolution I received.

Thanks for the info!

Jen said...

Okay, so my comment at 3:18 should have read, "Annnnnd ..." dang spell check.

Re: price adjustment ... personally, I've seen other retailers - J Crew, Gap being two I can accurately recall - not give price adjustments on sale merch. J Crew routinely does extra xx% off sale and if you buy it at 25% extra off, but it then goes to 40% extra off, they won't price adjust for the difference. However, if you buy it full price and it goes on sale 14 days later, then you'll get an adjustment. I think this is fair - and a policy that lulu should adopt. It's nice of lulu to be giving the further markdown difference in gift cards to people who are complaining - especially if an order was not yet received.

Anonymous said...

The reviews aren't gone for the WTF pullover, they just aren't being combined for the full price black one and the sales one. You have to go to both pages to see all the reviews. I've tried it on and did not have any off the issues people were having getting it on and off.

Off the Mat is online only but I saw a few at various local stores - all online returns (including my own).

Anonymous said...

I'm 2 in crb and the 4 fit perfectly .

Anonymous said...

Anon 4:14- How can Lulu be "robbing people blindly" when those people freely turn over their cash and credit cards? People make choices. Personally , I don't think Lulu owes anyone a price adjustment. You made a choice to purchase the product at a set price. If it Lulu decides to discount it they do not "owe" you anything. It's the gamble you take. You "really" wanted the product bad enough to pay an outrageous price. You made that choice knowingly and freely. You weren't duped into it.

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 7:14 pm - I agree. The markdown/final sale/no price adjustment policy is well-known, particularly among the hard-core lulu fans. I posted that the markdowns in the stores over Black Friday weekend got better as the weekend wore on and I was hoping the same thing would happen this week. It's a little unusual the on-line store got a second round of markdowns, too, but with the poor designs and faltering economy I am wondering if multiple rounds of markdowns will become lulu's future for the near term. It doesn't look like the latest striped items will go over very well and there is only so much lulu can offload at the outlets and warehouse sales so I am anticipating decent deals on these items eventually, too.

Lulu has a very strict return policy so you have to be 110% sure you really love something before you buy it and take the tags off it. I used to get suckered in by the markdown prices (the purple stickers in the stores) since they were "deals" but always ended up selling those bargains fairly quickly so it's extremely rare I get some new, unproven design on markdown that I passed on at full price. You have to decide for yourself what price you are willing to pay and if you will still like something if the price drops further. Waiting means you are taking the chance it will not be available in your size/color at the price you want. That is the gamble you take with every item you buy, anyway, no matter what the store.

Anonymous said...

Marti said....The seller/stores have strategies and so too should the shoppers. I shop J Crew, Bloomingdales and Nordstom for my office and evening clothes. It's always a waiting game because I will not pay full price. If I miss it -oh well.
Lululemon markdowns are not much different than any other store, they need to move the merchandise to make room for new inventory.
Bloomingdales has SEVERAL markdowns-this is nothing new.
J Crew has a fair set refund policy and are firm with Final Sale.
Lululemon needs to be consistent; refund or credit to all who request not just some. This chaos may change their refund policy-making it (more) rigid.

I just purchased an Ice Queen LS online in Canada for 49.00 :)
Can someone tell me what the fit is like? I am a 4-6 in Lulu tops, I got this in a 4 as it looks similiar to the Runder Under Reversable, which I have in a 6 and wish I went smaller as it flares out at the hips...I am muscular in the arms though so I'm hoping the 4 won't be too snug in that regard! Any insight into my latest Lulu purchase would be super, thanks :)

LLA: do you think the RFYL crops in the classic striped shell pink will go on MD??? debating if i want to keep them or not right now. TIA

Anonymous said...

I agree they can set their own rules about pricing. Truly I do..... And it's a gamble. But... It should a uniformed decision company wide. The problem today is some people are being compensated and others are not. And that dog just won't hunt!!

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 9:14 am- It's hard to say. The run crops that typically get marked down are: 1) ones that have a problem - unraveling seams or poor fit. You will find lots of black versions of those for sale, in many sizes. Usually a red flag there was a problem; 2) colored bottoms - that is the case for the marked down RFYL - the leftover Alberta Lake green (in the stores), Wee Space Limitless Blue, and Beaming Blue got marked down; and 3) "old" colors in the waistbands. It's tough to predict for the pink shell RFYL since they are a highly-rated style, mostly black, and just came out. It remains to be seen what other pink shell tops will come out to match. So far, only the swiftlys have come out. I would hope some more run tops/jackets might be coming with the stripes but I don't know. If you have them now, keep them up until the 14 day window to gauge whether more matching items will show up and how they are selling. If they are selling well and your size is gone off the website, then you should take the tags off them.

i almost never buy lulu full price, I'm not picky with colors and its not important for me to have the latest.
i live within a 40 minute drive to several stores so it's not much of a hassle to see whats on sale.
the only things i purchase full price are cool racerbacks and wunder unders.

Anonymous said...

LuluAddict- regarding your comment about the mark down of RFYL crops--not true. I have the Wee Space Limitless blue. Bought them full price when they first showed up. Wear them twice a week. No issues with unraveling, color. They are great crops. No issues period. I think they showed up there just because there is just excess.

Anonymous said...

I have it too and it's a bit big. Should've sized down for a more snug fit. So, you're probably good!

Anonymous said...

@ 9:08 PM I think you will be fine in the Ice Queen l/s. I am normally a 4 in LLL tops w/ sleeves (4-6 in jackets) and I have athletic arms. I myself tried it on in a size 4 in black and it was good for me. I decided not to buy it though as the quilting on the elbows fell oddly and I would be annoyed.

@Jen December 29, 2012 5:38 PM

Jen, I have to put this out for Gap Inc (all Gap brands) as I am very sure that your statement in regards to "Gap not giving price adjustment on sale merchandise" is untrue. If you look at the bottom of your Gap receipt, price adjustment will be granted within 7 days of purchase, regardless if the item is on sale or not. This includes any "percent off" coupon that you may receive after your purchase. For their online stores, they are more lenient with the 7 days price adjust policy. I just received a 20% coupon for Atheleta. I have made a purchase on their sale items more than 10 days ago but thought I'd give it a shot with the price adjust since the same items are still available in my color and size. The customer service rep pleasantly do the adjustment for me, no problem at all. I, of course asked very nicely! :)

LuluAddict said...

@ anon 5:44 am - I agree. The RYFL crops weren't marked down because of a quality issue, it's that the colored versions didn't sell as well. There were a lot of marked down versions of the Beaming Blue Gather and Crows on the racks, too. It could also be the case that they are clearing out those colors - Alberta/Beaming/Limitless because some new versions of the crops are coming. That happens, too. It's when you see the black version of a bottom, especially a new style, getting marked down then it's time to worry a little about what is wrong with it.

Anonymous said...

Do you think the off the mat jacket will make it to mark downs?
