More of the Latest

I don't understand how this pant color combo even got approved. For those of you who want some crazy spirit wear - Pump It Up Tank and Tank in Light Flare/Inkwell.

Mint Moment Scuba, Flare Pump It Up Jacket, Mint Moment Swiftly, Flare Not So Basic Tee

Flare Pump It Up Jacket photos, shown with a Mint Moment Swiftly underneath.

Mint Moment Pump It Up Jacket and Not So Basic Tee (that one looks a bit see through. I didn't try that one on last night), and the multi-color Pump It Up Shorts.

New Pink Shell Sea Stripe No Limit Tank.

Pump It Up Tank in Flare, shown with the Do It Up Duffel bag.

I don't know why they are pairing the Techni-cool LS with the Right Round pant. It looks very schlumpy together.

One of my new years resolutions was to ease up on my addiction -- these designs make it ridiculously easy!

Some of those pics are from my store! Yay!

Anyway, just wanted to put in my two cents about the under pants. My store (Trolley Square) had both the crops and the regular pants - not for those rock bottom prices that everyone talked about but I really wanted to try them on anyways ($54 for Under pant and $48 for crop). Got the black swan in pant and the classic black and white pant for crop. I have worn the BS UP for hot yoga and did not have an issue with them being too see thru (They were hotter than hell - but not see thru!). I sized up one size for the classic strip UC. I am wearing them today with a white every yogi tank and they are so amazingly soft and cute! I have done several bend over tests for my children (the real critics!) and my husband and all say they are good to go. I love the feel of the organic cotton so much. Super soft and cozy.

For the love of God, STOP the color blocking!

The orange & black outfit in the first pic looks like something they borrowed from Richard Simmons...circa 1984...

This is totally off topic but did the dog runner pant sell out on the US website? It was listing a full stock of black yesterday and some sizes in black swan at regular price. It's weird how today it is just gone, any ideas?

What are the designers smoking these days?

I second that Anon 11:32 and Allison!

Yikes! Those top photos are kind of funny...flare in the front and inkwell in the back! I thought it was two different outfits for a second there.

This is making me feel better about all my Boxing day purchases! I thought I went way overboard, but now I'm thinking that I stocked up on pieces I like and I can pass on all these weird styles and colors.

The mint is pretty, but it's not my color. I like the spring print, but I'd probably only buy a top in it, not multiple pieces. I guess I'm safe on spending money for now!

Wow...all this stuff is so ugly! I received 2 giftcards for Lulu for Christmas and there is literally NOTHING they're offering right now that's even worth it. Maybe I should check out one of those websites that buys your giftcards from you, because Lulu is really not doing it for me anymore. :(

None of these new colour combos appeal to me at all. Flare is too loud, and the stripes and colour blocking just make it even worst. Lulu, give us something classy! Even your line for girls is more sophisticated lately. Take a look at Ivivva's Encore tank, so flowy and pretty <3

Allison 11:32 AM, I second that!

PLENTY of hideousness and makes it very easy to not spend one single cent at LLL.

I was reading a financial article that was clueless. It stated LLL has a vision for "street wear" that they are convinced is a successful plan. Haha return to the '80s is not a good idea!

They should REALLY stop smoking weed and/or lay off the cr*ck!

Bought the Right Round pants today in black. Love them!!! Hoping they hold up and don't start to fall apart. I've been really disappointed with Lulu quality & design over the last year, so I thought I should give them some love for these babies! Here's to hoping 2013 is a much better year for Lulu lovers!

None of the new product is very appealing. I wish LLL would make more tanks without a shelf bra in them. Last year they made this running sleeveless tank with a high crew neck. I had been looking forward to purchase another tank in this style! Also, I never purchased from LLL because they were in-line with the latest fashion trends. I purchased because their clothing was classic and I would be able to wear them for a long time.

If I'm going to buy something trendy I would go to forever 21 and pay $10 for something to be worn for a short period of time.

Anyways, it doesn't matter ...my new years goal is to not purchase from LLL (after I pick up a mint moment CRB! Haha..if I like the colour and it's not too see through. From the looks of it, it might be though. The flow y bra the model is wearing is shown through in the close-up).

Happy 2013 everyone! Here's to being healthy and content with what we have! :)

They had piles of the striped under crops at the store I was at in the Chicago burbs. It was weird - they were "full price" at the readjusted $48 but then they had full length pants at $39? They also had the under pant in the laceofloge print and I have to say they were really cute. They are a little on the sheer side given that the main color is white but with the print I don't see it being a big problem. Ended up leaving with them but really mad at myself for not getting the grey when I had the chance. They sold out really quickly here.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here but I love the new Flare color. It was my high school's school colors (would have been perfect for football and soccer games) and the Cincinnati Bengal's colors too - perfect for games! haha

OT -- It really cracks me up that the goal setting banner on the US site features a woman clad entirely in Speedo. It'd be even funnier if it appeared around the same time as their swim line...

Love the sneak peek of the new patchwork print bag in the Australia Bags header picture. Finally, something to look forward to.

I am not sure if the latest designs are more hideous or hilarious?! Oh lulu where have you gone? I was cleaning out files today (Happy New Year!) and it is sad ( or very good financially) that I had very little Lulu receipts this past year - I used to buy at least 1-2 items per month! Who is running the ship or the ahem design house!

@ anon 6:13 pm - It's a TYR suit but I know what you mean.

I agree with all above comments! I also wish LLL would return to their products that were actually functional and classic opposed to trendy and showy. The jacket they show someone running in has a huge cowl zippered neckline....last time I checked, us serious runners would find this completely annoying, incredibly distracting and absolutely impossible to run in. But, on the positive side, I, too am saving a ton of money not buying from LLL! (well, not exactly saving but spending it elsewhere! lol....)

@ 6:53 PM great find on the AUS site! So many pretty colors I hope to see in 2013 especially that deep purple!

That patchwork bag on the AUS site looks similar to the Seawheeze duffel...but I could be wrong.

@Anon 8:37 You're right. It is the Sea Wheeze bag. I have nothing to look forward to from Lululemon. Sadness ensues.

The waist "band" on those Root Chakra Pants is insane. Gross.

I'm not a fashion person, so can someone tell me: do Flash and Mint Moment really coordinate? It looks awful to me.

Anonymous said...

@ 6:35 AM, no, they do not go! It's barfy!

Anonymous said...

Wow! Just absolutely awful. It did provide me with a few minutes of entertainment though. They say laughter is the best medicine so maybe they're trying to help us. The black and pink shirt looks exactly like a pirate to me! Argh! What is going on matey!?

that technicool is technifug. looks like a pre-owned sweatshirt you buy for fifty cents at goodwill for your 80s halloween costume that smells like mothballs. if you want 3/4 length sleeves, do it. if you want full length, do it. so boxy, so dated!

I actually think that lulu is doing quite well, at least in the area that I live NYC where people are not afraid to try new things even if they are a little crazy. That is how styles and designs get out there and become popular. I have not seen this much lulu being worn in the street at the gym and my yoga studio ever.
The store I go to has been packed with people buying since Thanks giving.
Maybe lulu found a new demographic.

@ M - I'll be honest, I don't think this latest batch of stuff looks that bad overall. The stripey Work It Out tanks look pretty cute in quite a few of the photos, particularly with black bottoms. The floral Root Chakra pants look cute with a black or pink shell top on the right shape and the print is very current. The pants themselves are very comfortable. I really like the Pump It Up jacket and find it functional. So many of lululemon's jackets run tight in the upper arms, shoulders, and chest so it's a nice change of pace to find one that is roomy. The brushed luxtreme is super soft. The Not So Basic Tee and Pump It Up shorts makes a very nice gym outfit - not sexy but super functional. Most everything out now is technical and very functional. The Right Round Pants are comfortable and are perfectly good warmup pants.
