Photos of the New Spring Arrivals

New Bleached Coral Forme Jacket. Also shown are: the Bleached Coral Gros Gingam Groovy Run shorts, Frond Groovy Run Shorts, White Swiftly tops, and Burning Yellow Inspire Crops.

New Dune and White gingham Forme Jacket. Shown with a Bleach Coral Swiftly top in the top photo and Frond Groovy run shorts in the bottom.

That new bag has hit the US but I don't have a name for it. The colors look like Dune, Black, and Bleach Coral to me. Shown with the new Dune/White gingham Forme Jacket.

It looks like the first batch of the spring season to arrive in the US is: Frond and Bleach Coral Gingham Groovy Run shorts, White Swiftlys in LS, SS, and SL, Bleached Coral Swiftlys in SS and SL, and the two new Forme Jackets in Bleached Coral and Whtie/Dune gingham. One of the photos also said there were Swiftlys coming in Dune.

From Australia - photos of the Beach Runner crop. I am very curious to try these on. They look cute in the photos.

Also shown, Mellow Lemon Swiftly, Burning Yellow Pump It Up Shorts (I think) & Frond Groovy Runs

Frond Swiftly SS and Groovy Run Shorts

Frond Swiftly SS and Bleached Coral Pace Setter

Also from Australia, photos of the short sleeve Frond Swiftly top.

If that lady with the green on green had a baseball hat the same color with some ping pong eye balls, she'd make an excellent Kermit the Frog.

Holy EEEK on all of this!!! Makes the flare inkwell combos and bad color blocking seem like a dream. Whoever said its like kohls junior dept was right on the money!

At first glance I thought that new bag was cute but they ruined it with that black color blocking. Yuck. Love the frond swiftly.

wish that bleached coral forme was a define...sigh...

Anyone know those wunder unders that are in the picture with the white forme jacket!? Or the bleached coral swiftly tank!?

Anonymous said...

OT - did the price of the singlets go up? I thought they used to be $44 - and now they're $52.00...

I got excited when I saw the bleached coral. I thought it was a define at first, then I enlarged the picture and saw it was the forme jacket.

*sigh*

I miss the old designs.

you know i actually like that bag, im not buying anything, including the bag, but i do like it.

ugh, i do not like the frond shorts at all! i did initially but these photos and colour combinations are not appealing to me.

i know many of you will look great in these colours and styles but i just don't like any of it! looks extremely young to me.

i have said it before, and i do not know if its a change in the cuts/hemlines/gussets or what but all these items look so ill fitting and really not flattering. and there is nothing wrong at all with the models. it is perhaps just my perception has changed so severely with ll these days?

Green is usually not my color..but frond is a really pretty green. It looks great in the pictures matched with a white top.

I think there are some nice colors and nice items, but it looks so young to me. I'm 31 and buff and small, but I don't really want to wear any of this. I guess I have been spending too much time with Splits 59 and Sweaty Betty....which has made me appreciate a different aesthetic. These brands (along with a couple others I've tried) are more modern and fashion-forward. It's funny, at this time last year I was Lulu crazed. After such a horrible summer/winter last year, I started looking elsewhere, and now that I've seen what is out there and tried new things, I am happy without Lulu. I keep checking this board to see what's coming up (it's hard to let go of a long time obsession cold turkey), but unlike many of you, I haven't jumped back on the band wagon in recent weeks. I'm not buying anything. The bad redesigns, quality problems and poor customer service have left a lasting bad taste with me. I wonder- is anyone else out there with me, or are you all buying?

I'm liking the seaming on the beach runner crops but I noticed in another pic they have a big drawstring on the outside that ties in a bow. I really hate drawstrings on the outside because they make a big lump under a fitted shirt. Maybe I'm being too picky, but it just looks stupid to me. Wish they made it on the inside of the waistband like usual.

Anonymous said...

I like the look of the lower part of the Beach Runner Crops but the waistband looks icky with the gapping hole at the waistband. I hope it's on the inside - you never know with LLL.

Green and pink together look gross.

Wow, Forme Jacket, they just refuse to let that one go!

Overall, Beach Runner Crops excepted (and perhaps Frond and Mellow Yellow CRBs) looks like my money will stay in the bank.

Makes sense that the green and yellow came out in Oz first - Happy Australia Day!

Holy cow, that girl featured in the Swiftly tank, long sleeve and short sleeve photo is RIPPED. Her upper body is EPIC.

I really want the Frong swiftly!!!

I have been waiting for a solid white fitted jacket from Lulu for 2 years now. Why do they aways have to ruin it trying to make it different? I just want a basic WHITE Luon jacket - not denim material, not colorblocked like that hideous white Forme with the Dune shoulders, not this new Forme with a pattern!

Speaking of which, in that photo with the guy lying down, I see a white windbreaker-like jacket. Anyone know if it is new?

@Anon 10:08 PM --- I was thinking the same thing. A define in bleached coral would be fabulous.

Do not fancy the new bag at all. Now im thinking if i should buy another Daily Om to keep as a spare when my current one wears out. The new bags have been disappointing and im so afraid theyd stop producing the daily om! Perfect size for my laptop, gym clothes, make up pouch and my vibrams!

loving the green mat and I really like the swiftly tanks .

hey anon 9:04...been struggling with some chronic foot/ankle problems. how do you like your vibrams if you don't mind? is it love? did you switch due to injury?

thanks in advance for any info.

Anonymous said...

I with you on that, Ive pretty much left Lulu and moved on to other brands. I just have to go over to their FB page once in a while to read all the unhappy customer complaints and I KNOW....Ive made the right decision! too much Lulu BS out there, why would I support a company that really doesn't care about its loyal customers??? No, I haven't been buying very much in the last two years.

Anonymous said...

Agree with the kermit reference and the kohls teen department references....But yeah, the beach runner crops look promising. I was in the Chicago store this morning and was tempted by the white swiftly they just got in....Anyone care to wager whether white will stain for running, silverescent anti-stink notwithstanding???

Anonymous said...

@ Anon 4:57--I'm totally with you. I haven't bought anything in 4 months

Anonymous said...

I want a frond swiftly and the coral gingham and solid frond groovy runs. Probably pick up a white swiftly SL too! Yippee for fun bright colors! i'm still waiting to get that burning yellow CRB online too... i'm in trouble ladies and gents!

Anonymous said...

I noticed you mentioned sweaty Betty. Can you let me know how they fit? I want to order some things! Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Actually pink and green are very preppy and a popular combo. I don't think it's gross at all.

Me too!!!

Hi anon 11:05, i am gonna be honest with you that the vibrams are not for everyone. Some
Say its a matter of getting used to them but definitely not in my case.

I am used to other minimal shoes like new balance and brooks pure but i am still not 100% comfortable with my vibrams yet. They work will (for me) for short runs, at max 7-8miles. Anything above that i will take my Newtons out. I do my halfs in newtons still.

Perhaps i am a new to barefoot running, but when i get tired towards the end of my run, i realise i tend to land heavily and sometimes drag my feet even. Vibrams are NOT good when you do that.

Yes i did switch due to injury 4 years back. I switched to newtons becuse forefoot running really helped w the pounding on my ankles and heels. I later tried vibrams because they are lighter and because of how they wrap around ur feet. Vibrams increased my speed greatly for my shorter runs (4-5 miles) but for my longer runs and my halfs, i am still more
Comfortable in my newtons.

Not buying like I used to. Only purchased the toasty tech tights and brisk items full price (tried a couple of bras but poor fit). Everything else has been at a drastic mark down. Shopped boxing day, boxing week and the warehouse sale. Only purchased because the price was good. Didn't love any of the stuff I bought. Although I have come to quite like the Bundle Up jackets. Have two now. Would never have paid the original asking price of $200. The designs and colours have been poor, quality lacking and crazy prices. Put right off by the cost saving design changes. Absolutely refuse to buy the scuba stretch and forme even though they fit me. I've not had customer service problems, but expect that is just a matter of time.

Have not seriously shopped elsewhere largely because I don't need anything.

The exaggerated curved hem line is just awful. I held my nose and bought the bundle up with this hem since I think I can make it work in a jacket, but it really fails with a top. A while ago either LLA or Lulumum posted a picture of a red curved drop hem top under a regular jacket and the hem hanging down looked like a portion of a tongue sticking out. Really funny looking. That image has stayed with me.

@ anon 4:57AM:

I'm totally with you, too. Every time I've bought something in the past 8 months, I've been disappointed in the quality, not to mention the design changes. The blogs are still fun to read, though.

Could care less what is considered "popular". It's ugly. Would not even put a child in that combination, when perhaps a child could get away with the combo.

I love the pink and green as well. It's obnoxious ... and I love it. Wondering if the green will go with my current pow pink stuff. Thinking it will probably go with the inkwell CRB I just picked up. (BTW - LOVE the inkwell with Fearless Red and Love Red!)

Anon 4:07 - what made you switch to Newtons? Did you find that you had a period of time where you were adjusting to the shoes? I've had knee issues (swelling now - NOT fun) and am in the market for new shoes anyway. Looking at the Asics Gel Kayono due to the stability and cushion, but I know I need something that gets me more on my forefoot. Unfortunately, my local running store doesn't carry Newtons. Just curious as to how you made the switch.

Anonymous said...

Do you think there will be any problems with the white swiftly tech's yellowing because of sweat?

Meredith Wade said...

Does the forme jacket fit TTS - the way the define did? I wear an 8 in the define but a 6 in the scuba stretch and the daily yoga. BTW the daily yoga jacket rocks. Any advice on the forme is much appreciated:)

Anonymous said...

It's tight fitting in my opinion, but very stretchy material. I am size 4 comfortably in the old scuba hoodies and 4 in the forme is very fitted. Not because of 34C chest because stomach area is fitted as well. I would suggest sizing up if you want it to look more like the online lulu photos, stay with normal size if you don't mind showing everything.

@anon 4:07; thanks so much for your honest response, i appreciate it.

i am really not sure if they are for me either but i am so frustrated with injury derailing my training.

thanks again!!

Not for nothing but I switched to an all natural deodorant and noticed no more yellow! I think its more chemical than your sweat that leaves a yellow stain.

I'd love to see a comparison of the bleached coral swiftly and the flash swiftly racerback from last summer...any out there??

Lol @ the top photos. I know when I feel like some exercise, it just isn't the same unless I can crouch beside a mule first.

Anon with running injury, you might want to look into Merrell Barefoot. I have a Dash glove that I adore. For me, I was struggling wearing running shoes, because I live in my bare feet and flats. Running in sneakers was very uncomfortable and impeding my natural gait. After the switch, I can run further and faster and not worry about what's on my feet. I wouldn't be surprised if the shoes many runners wear contribute to their injuries.

The reason I prefer the Dash glove to the Vibrams is pretty simple, mostly has to do with a dislike of separation at my toes, and also has to do with the breathability of the shoe. My Vibrams feel heavier, hotter, more restrictive. The Dash glove feels very light and airy.

And on to Lulu, I love the pink, green, and yellow! Very cheerful and refreshing. I wish the Swiftly SL was not shorter, but I love all three of these colors so will have to grab the SS variety. And maybe some gingham speeds :-)

Re shoes and injury: I was an ASICS girl forever, and ran pain free for a long time, but eventually my overstride led to a hip tear. I eventually switched over to Nike Free Run 3s and have been loving them for over a year now, and have done all my training and run half marathons in them. They really make you think about your stride, and for me not only did I fall into a less harsh stride, I also started running faster and with seemingly less effort. I plan to eventually play around with Vibrams but you might want to consider a step in between if you are used to the cushioned shoes. I have friends that like the Kinvara version of the Nike Frees too. Also, lastly, you might want to check out the book Chi Running, and of course, Born to Run. Hope this helps!

Actually sweat is clear- it's the bacteria on your skin that absorb the oils and fats on your skin and THEN it turns yellow. Has nothing to do with chemicals. Totally natural process.

Does anyone know what the grey pants are on the girl with the pink crb ? Are those wu?

I love Sweaty Betty - I'd say tops run slightly big, I'm a LLL size 2-4 and found XS good albeit with a little room.

I'm also a new convert to Split59 and lately activewearusa.com.

Something about LLL just screams "I'm trying too hard" especially the latest designs. Seems like people are too stuck on the belief that anything from LLL will make their butts look good.

I have a pair of newtons and I really like them. I also have the new balance minimus and I wear those to run on the beach. I strike on my forefoot, and the really cushiony shoes really bother my feet. I don't really run more than 6 miles, I am more of a sprinter.
