When oh when will we see the herringbone u turn pullover on the web site? Also, what are the thoughts on the new daily yoga jacket color polar haze slub denim?

What's the difference between the run inspire crops (ones in the picture above with the spring has sprung small stripe on calf) and the run for your life crop? I need a spring running crop and don't know the difference? I'm a 12 and like compression and am 5'1" and mainly do long distances (half marathon training). Which should I get?

The Straight to the Studio Pants were on the UK site last week and they're on the Canadian site this week.

OT - I know that a lot of people aren't fans of the Under Crops and the new ones were on sale in stores, however I was wondering if the classic stripe black and blue Under Crops will ever show up online?

any insight on when the inspires will go back to "normal"? I'm kicking myself for not buying a pair this time last year after reading about the changed waistband :(

Anonymous said...

@anon 4:43- I totally want to know the same thing. I hate the new waistband. Also, when you pick up a pair make sure to test the Luxtreme. I have noticed that some of the batches are VERY thin, and offer no compression or coverage. Stupid Lulu messing with our stuff. ;(

So I just got the Sweaty Betty U.S. catalog in the mail, and wow! That stuff is CUTE, and apparently they're running some special pricing for our market. Has anyone tried the brand? I'd really like to give it a go.
Also, I was in a city the other day for work that had an Athleta, and I was super surprised when I went in. They have some great stuff, and I bought some leggings....no bum crack when I bend over! I think the biggest thing with the LLL changes was that I was panicking about what I'd wear to work out! I know that is silly, but I relied on LLL to outfit me in GREAT gear that performed and looked good, and then once the product started sucking, I didn't know where do go. Feeling a little happier now that I have some options. I also really like Splits 59 pants.

2 things-

1. the spring has sprung & white/black chevron print fabrics look streched out on most of the crop pictures i've seen - even on the skinny models. looks kinda cheap to me.

2. i've been taking my money to target recently. a fraction of the price and the seams don't come undone after three wears. (ahem, my g&c denim crops, which i love got a hole in the crotch after two wears around the house)

it makes me sad - because LLL stuff was so cute, but for the $$ i need it to hold up to way more abuse.

Those WU came SO close to being cute. I can't describe how much I hate the colour blocking. Dear Lulu: ENOUGH with the colour blocking already, pleaseandthankyou.

The spring has sprung print is growing on me, but what colors are people pairing it with besides the flare? Pinks and purples? I am not really into the mint moment...

10.17 I have both crops I am 5'-3" 120lbs I have both crops and find that the run inspire is better for running. the run for your life bunches a little around the knees since it is a bit shorter. they seem similar in terms of compression, but I am pretty muscular.

Dance Moms (guilty pleasure) had Lululemon and Ivivva all over it last night -- It is so funny to me that whenever you see a Lulu jacket on TV, it is usually a define -- and yet they discontinue that style - it just makes no sense!!!

OT -- Received my St Moritz WMTM jacket yesterday -- ad I have to say -- it is an awesome coat -- I took my Define Size and it fits perfect -- so soft and warm and well made -- If you are on the fence -- grab one!

@ Anon 10:07 p.m.

These are both great crops and both provide a decent amount of compression. I'm partial to the Inspires because I like the longer length crops. However, at only 5'1", I would recommend the Run For Your Life, just because the Inspires will be too long for you; they'll basically be a pant. Lulu always offers free hemming services, but then you'll lose a lot of the circle mesh that's meant to go on the back of your calf.

Anonymous said...

I love my older inspire crops, but no new ones for me unless they change them back.

Hi anon10:07,
The inspires and the one with the spring has sprung with the calf in the leg are the same crops!
I have both pairs and here is a comparison:

Inspires:
Reach mid-calf
Stay in place
At your height you could probabaly stretch it down to your ankles or mid-calf (two pants in one!)
Usually has upf in the pant material
Compression

Run:for your life
The newer colors have the reflective strip down the last 1/4 or so of the crop
Not very compression-type
Because of the way the material lands it does move and loosen up around the knee area. Not uncomfortable for me..but some might find it annoying since it doesn't stay in place
Thinner material
"looser" waistband

Those are the main differences I find between the two. I hope this helps.
I've never had a problem with them falling down or re-adjusting during a rum. They are both very comfortable. Both have a triangle gusset.

I feel the waistband is

i wouldn't recommend the inspire crops. I'm the same height as you and the length is way too long, i don't think it looks good.

HELP PLEASE- did the short sleeve swiftly already come out in either burning yellow or light flare??? I hope I didn't miss them!

OT but does anyone have advice on whether to size up in the patterned wunder unders? I bought the lace unders in a size up but because I didn't want the whole stretched out pattern look but they are a little baggy in some areas. this is my first pair of patterned crops so thought I would get advice - thanks!

I wish they would go back to the old waistband on the Inspire crop too. A few months ago, I was in the store looking at running crops, and an educator tried to steer me toward the Inspires. I explained to her that the revised waistband didn't work for me. She had no idea what I was talking about.

Anyone know if we are going to get the new colors of the Yoga Camp crops that Australia got? Or maybe get the full length Yoga Camp pants? I WANT!

Anonymous said...

I love polar haze, love slub denim. But I wish the arms matched. And I don't feel this jacket deserves a price increase from the Stride/In Stride :/

It's just all so "ick". I am not a fan of that Spring Has Sprung print at all! Speed Shorts are my short of choice but in SHS no thank you. I also can't stand the stripes.

I saw the Spring print for the first time in store today and I LOATHE it. I don't care for floral prints in general though. It is polyesterish and dark. In the Inspires it doesn't even look floral, just abstract and muddy. When stretched it also loses the "floral" pattern. This is by far my least favorite Lulu print ever.
I did buy the Right Round Pants today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I wear Wunder Under crops, Inspire Crops and Ebb and Flow Crops but have been wanting a baggy track style pant. I have been waiting for Lulu to make these exact pants for 2 years since I first discovered the brand! For me the Right Round were a size down item.

@ Anonymous 10:07- The Inspire crops are a longer crop (mid-calf) and have several curving panels on the legs and hips. The Run for Your Life crops are shorter (just below knee) and have gathering on the outside of the leg near the knee. The Inspire crops have a lower rise than the RFYL crops.

Since Ive been saving myself THOUSANDS on not buying Lulu, Ive been buying like CRAZZZY from "other" websites! FYI...if you are in CANADA, there is a HUGE UGG Australia SALE online, for women, kids and men! From what I can tell, this is the first time....Ive ever seen them have a SALE on their own website! Scored some nice goodies for my family and some items are 50% off!!! :D Also, they now have a warehouse in TO, so if ordering in Canada...your UGGs are coming from Toronto, not LA! HAPPY SHOPPING!!! :)

Finally went to my local Lulu store to check on the new stuff and markdowns. Was really surprised to see the following on sale at the store but not online: WTF jacket $199, Uba hoodie (both colors)$99, WTF pullover (black)$89, DHBH pullover (polar)$79. And some items weren't marked down to the web prices. It's pretty lame that the web and the stores operate as if they are 2 diff companies! Prices should be the same all around! I didn't jump on the WTF jacket since I think they will go down eventually online.

I went into a local store tonight with no intention of buying anything (unless there was some awesome markdown, but didn't expect any to be left). I just wanted to see some of this stuff in person. Wow, stripes BAD, spring floral AWFUL, Mint Moment *meh*. And STILL healthy stacks of Scuba Stretch sweaters that I swear are not new/refreshed stock, but just keep sitting there as is. Very few markdown items and nothing of interest.

As expected, I left with nothing. As anticipated, don't think I'll be buying for a while, if at all.

Please reconsider spending your THOUSANDS of dollars (mentioned and capitalized every post, sigh).

I know uggs are much loved by many...please just make an informed decision as they are not an ethically sourced product.

Just a simple request.

Went to the Bellevue LLL today, they had the herringbone U-turn, it's very nice like the herringbone WUC. I tried on the MM crb and it was nice but I felt like it looked a little sheer but not too bad. The reversible MM/black WUC were TERRIBLE; you could see the MM showing through the black so there is no way you can wear them on the black side, you would only be able to wear them on the MM side and it wouldn't be see thru because of the black lining. I have to say, I finally tried on the MM jacket and I think it is super cute! I like the fit!

Anonymous said...

Thanks ladies!!! Now I'm informed AND torn :)

Anonymous said...

I'm 5'2" and I think the length of the inspires are fine..and flattering! Haha..preference. But, if ou want compression I definitely feell the inspires are better for that.

Anonymous said...

LLA - Do you think we will see a CRB in the Spring has Sprung print? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Thanks Sandra for the little comment on the mm crb. I was eying that and thinking about picking it up as my last LLL purchase (the drawer has reached it's capacity! Lol). Anyways if its sheer I won't get it. I'm a group fitness instructor and can't have my sports bra showing through! Haha I saw a pic of it with the striped free to be underneath..confirmed my initial suspicions when I saw it on the upload. What up LLL with the sheer stuff?

now....let us not forget, Lululemon is NOT an ethically sourced product either! don't forget it either. Sadly, Lulu is probably made by child labour in China. :(

Anon January 9, 2013 11:15 AM:

I would not size up in WUC or any printed WU for that matter. This is my BIGGEST gripe with LLL these days (or since quality started going downhill). Educators realize the printed/colored WUs are sheer, so they keep steering you to go up a size. The problem with this is that the waistband is too loose and it starts folding and rippling horrendously. Also definitely not as flattering in the back view. I feel like LLL is also starting to do the whole vanity sizing thing. I swear I was a solid 4/6 about 5 years ago, now I am a 2/4 and I have GAINED weight since then!

So bottom line...don't size up. Sheer is sheer. I know it sucks but go try other brands. I know I did. OT but I realized I've been spending a lot of $ on IceBreaker and activewearusa.com.

Anonymous said...

hi Sandra I didn't have that problem with my MM WUC. you have to serously stretch them to see the green through the black. Maybe I got a lucky pair. LOL

Ok so I just have to rant! Just got my spring has sprung speeds. Super cute. But what the heck, they placed a red flower right in center front! Horrible! Totally looks like I started my period on my run:( and they are sold out of my size :(

I love LLL but for distance running with compression try the CW-X Stabylizer crop. AMAZING.

LuluAddict said...

Shell Pink looks nice with it. So does Polar Haze.

LuluAddict said...

I would have thought we might but I am still waiting for the black and white laceoflage CRB to show up. I heard Australia has just recently gotten that so there's hope for Spring Has Sprung.

LuluAddict said...

I agree, I think you'd find Inspires too long for your height. I'm 5'5" and find them too long myself. I think the RFYL are super comfortable.

Anonymous said...

I totally agree! Whenever I have sized up, the garments fit fine in the dressing room but when I was working out and doing yoga - they fell down because the waist wasn't tight enough. So for the Wunder Unders for example they would sink down to almost but crack level when I was bending over. Way embarrassing.

Anonymous said...

The really sad part is it WAS made in Canada- ethically- by adults making a decent wage. But LLL got greedy and moved manufacturing to China where 9 year old nimble fingers sew it instead of going to school. And they raised the prices. So Fu$&ing sad.

@ anon 6:14pm - ha ha - so true.

Anonymous said...

annon 4:09 that sounds awful, how hard could it be for QC to notice something so obvious.

Sandra said...

Lol! Wow I posted a question about them and questioned whether I saw a faulty pair! I VERY lightly ran my hand in the pant and it looked like the mint was GLOWING through the black so I didn't waste my time even trying them on because I thought they were so bad. Perhaps I did see a faulty pair at the store, who knows with LLL... I haven't purchase much since summer ended. I was tired o returning things due to poor quality.

OT- saw some flare gingham shorts in a chicago store today. They are super cute.
I accidently left my phone at home and didnt get a pic.

Anons January 10th 10:14 AM & 9:22 PM

Thank you for your advice on whether to size up on laceoflage wunder unders. I'm going to stick to my usual size - I was worried about that already since they are kind of sagging in spots so your input really helped!!!

@Texasrain, great review on the Right Round pants!

I bought them as well and man oh man do they ever feel like Heaven. I HATE the side stripe and the tight waist. Why couldn't they have used a stretchier elastic, like the DSP? They fit loose everywhere else but it's a struggle to pull them on over my hips, and I'm pretty small.
I think I'm going to try on a size up and see how that works, but I'm afraid I'll be swimming in them.
I think I'll return them and wait for WMTM because I'm not sure how these will sell.
They're pretty ugly, but they feel amazing! I would definitely feel better buying them on WMTM.

I also got the Pump It Up jacket in black and love how soft it is! And versatile. I love how it covers my bum.
I wish it had thumb holes, a 2-way zipper, and the old reflective logo (as opposed to the new little black rubber stick-on logo at the waist). And maybe a hood option? I guess I'm describing the Stride jacket a bit, haha.
I wish I could say 100% that it's a keeper, but it's pretty expensive so I'm on the fence.

IS LLL now copying other lines rather than being the one to copy?? Check out what I found in the sale "rack" at Swetty Betty. FLOAL CAPRIS!! Makes one go, "hmmmm".

I am confused as to what size to order my run inspires in now, based on all the discussion on the different waist band. I have an older style in a size 4 (now circle mesh), then last spring I ordered another pair (has the circle mesh) in a size 2. They are much snugger, but are now seeming to stretch in the waist with so much wear. For reference, I am 5,5, and weigh 106, with a slim build. Based on reviews on the site, I am leaning toward ordering the size 4. Any input in appreciated-love this blog :)
